The treatment of cancer requires eternal optimism. Technology is advancing at the speed of light and new treatment options are saving more lives every day, and we are seeing patients living much longer lives. At the Springfield Regional Cancer Center we are interested in not only treating the cancer, but in providing our population with the resources they need to deal with cancer throughout their lives, treating the whole person and not just the disease.

Treatment Options and Services

Medical Oncology

Medical oncology is an important part of the treatment offered at the Springfield Regional Cancer Center. Our highly trained medical oncologists are each well-versed in all areas of oncology care. They provide state-of-the-art treatment with the newest and most effective chemotherapy drugs available. Medical oncology services are provided by Springfield Hematology and Oncology Associates.

Radiation Oncology

Cutting edge technology is the cornerstone of our radiation oncology department. Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment including a new, high-powered linear accelerator with Multileaf Collimator, our board certified radiation oncologists, nurses, radiation therapists, dosimetrist and medical physicist use radiation therapy to treat many different types of cancer.

Chemotherapy Infusion

Our infusion area is open, airy and comfortable...environmentally designed to be warm and friendly place for healing as you receive needed chemotherapy agents. A large open area invites you to interact with other patients, watch TV, play games or simply sit and read and listen to your own CDs or tapes. If you need privacy, two private rooms are also available. For added comfort, the infusion area overlooks a beautiful serenity garden.
