MRI

The Springfield Regional Imaging Center is equipped with a short bore MRI.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a state-of-the-art, computer assisted diagnostic technique capable of gathering and displaying images and other information of the head or body without the use of ionizing radiation.

The Springfield Regional Imaging Center is equipped with a short bore MRI that allows many exams to be performed with the patient's head completely outside of the magnet. With a 27" diameter, the MRI unit can accommodate event the most claustrophobic patients comfortably without sacrificing superior imaging quality.

Our new open bore, high-field MRI accommodates claustrophobic patients and those who weigh up to 540 lbs. and has a shorter scan times than open MRI.
