Visitor Information

Thank you for your interest in Springfield Regional Medical Center. Our services and facilities have been designed for your comfort and convenience.

Personal attention, friendliness and warmth are a tradition at Springfield Regional Medical Center. Our highly skilled staff works to balance tenderness with state-of-the-art technology and care.

 

Visiting Guidelines

We visitors and primary supports for our patients. Primary supports are encouraged to be involved and supportive of the patient and integral to the patient’s healing process. Primary supports are permitted to have greater access to the patient than a visitor but are asked to be flexible and respond to the changing needs of the patient.

• Hours for visitors are 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. There are no age limitations but children younger than 16 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult who is not a patient.

• A primary support is named by the patient and someone who provides support both physically and emotionally to the patient. The primary support does not have to be a relative.

• Primary supports can come to the hospital at any time at the discretion of the patient or the patient’s representative.

• Visitors will be given a green arm band daily from the Front Desk or Nurses’ station to wear during their visit. Primary supports will be given a blue arm band at the Nurses’ station to be worn for the entire patient stay.

• The staff at the Information Desk can assist you in locating a patient room. Appropriate dress, including shirts and shoes, are required.

• SRMC is a tobacco-free campus. Smoking and other tobacco use are prohibited within SRMC and on SRMC grounds.

• If you are sick or have been exposed to a communicable disease, please do not come to the hospital to visit.

• Please ask any staff member if you have questions about visiting.

• We ask that visitors not sit on a patient’s bed because of the increased risk of infection and possible discomfort for both the guest and patient.

• Many of our patients are on special diets. Please check with the nurse before bringing any food to a patient.

• We strive to continually improve our quality of care and service to our patients and families.

 

Dining

Springfield Regional Medical Center offers a full service cafeteria, located on the Garden Level. We recommended visitors ask our staff for cafeteria hours as they are subject to change. Vending machines are available 24 hours a day in the cafeteria.

 

Gift Shops

Our Garden View Gift Shop is located inside the lobby of the hospital. The gift shop offers a wide variety of reading materials, toiletries, novelties, gifts and snack items.

 

Courtesy Telephones

Free phone services (for local calls only) are conveniently available for our patients and visitors. These courtesy telephones can be found in select locations throughout the hospital. Please ask our staff for information about making long distance calls.

 

Tobacco Free Campus

We strongly believe as a healthcare provider, we hold a responsibility for promoting a safe and healthy environment for all those who visit or work at our hospital. Springfield Regional is a tobacco-free campus. Tobacco-free means no tobacco products of any kind may be used or sold on the hospital property.
